GREETINGS!

My name is Nathan Binnema.  I am a Treaty 6 settler on Amiskwaciy Waskahikan (Beaver Hills House Park), the traditional homeland of the Papaschase Cree, as well as the site of one of the original Metis settlements, currently known to many as the city of Edmonton.  Although I've lived most of my life within this region, my people are very new here, my grandparents having arrived from the Netherlands in 1948 on my mother's side, and 1960 on my father's side.  I have immersed myself in the community in a variety of ways, many of which I showcase on this web site.  My primary interests are mathematics, and nature connection.  In other words, I explore the boundaries between the human world and the purely abstract worlds that emerge from the formal exercise of our imaginations, and between the human world and the animate world from which human bodies, communities, and consciousness emerge.
